A Dream 23 Years in the Making
Since the founding of the Medina County SPCA in 1985,
thousands of abused, abandoned, neglected and
injured animals have been cared for and placed in loving
permanent homes. The work continues and is
ever-increasing as our county grows. The workload has
exceeded the foster home system we have used in the
past. Boarding costs incurred via vet clinics and kennels
have placed a financial burden on the MSPCA that has
made it increasingly difficult for the organization to
operate in the black.
To continue this work into the future, the MSPCA is in
need of a central animal care facility that will help us
care for more animals at one location, reducing costs
significantly while offering many other benefits.
Medina County Commissioners have awarded MCSPCA a
30-year land lease on a four-acre parcel on Deerview
Lane, at a nominal cost of $1 per year. It is now up to
the MSPCA to construct a building to make our future
work possible.
The MSPCA has worked with a local commercial building
company and developed plans for a building that will
enable us to handle our increasing work load, plus add
programs to benefit the animals of Medina County.
Capital Fund Campaign
The Medina SPCA will kick off its official Capital Fund
Campaign in 2008.
